Chrom and Safari are essentially the same browser (webkit), could be you have more updated webkit version in Chrome, then Safari, but there's no reason for any difference really. Well, of course this may depend on many other factors as well... it's really difficult to tell what may be causing this as every browser is a complex program and it may as well happen that some aspects are better in one browser, while some other are better in another one.
