Thanks Kerry and Glenn - starting to get the hang of it. The relationship between the MXML + AS was confusing at first - and associating a .as with a .mxml took some doing - but I'm getting the hang of it. Also my personal preference right now is not to use inline event assignments for components or CDATA script blocks - but still trying out different approaches. Anyway...
