The CF adapter is designed to run side-by-side with the existing remoting service in the CF server. Flex 2 uses a different version of remoting than Flex 1.5 or the Flash Remoting components in Flash 8. So if you want to use the enhancements in the adapter, you have to access them from Flex 2 (and eventually a new version of Flash authoring). HTH

Flex 2 uses a slightly modified version of AMF too if I remember correctly, so you actually _need_ the adapter to use remoting with the current build.

I think they plan to make the new version of AMF an option rather than a requirement in the future though.
