If you're working with PHP, you can call webservices or
load XML over HTTP. I've never used it, but I believe the most popular web
services library for PHP is NuSoap.
The RemoteObject functionality is actually in the version
of the Flex Framework you have downloaded, but Macromedia's server-side
implementation of RemoteObject is not yet been released for testing. Flex 2 uses
an updated version of the AMF protocol, so it doesn't work with older versions
of AMF, including the Flex 1.5 server and openAMF. I imagine the open source
versions will be updated over the next few months, and as we've said previously
we plan to make a release of the Flex Enterprise Services available for testing
soon.

finally the thing is that remoteObject is not supported in flex-2 stand
alone.....i tried the code given in the link below::
