Flex 1.5 is based on Flash Player 7, which does have masks of course.
The framework code uses masks to clip contents in a container or in a
list (or to animate the dropdowns in menus and combo boxes, etc.).
The API is the same as in Flash: you create a movie clip and set it as
the mask for the object you want to mask.
