Matt,
Thanks again for
clarifying. Personally I think it would be a good idea to indicate “built-in
functions” (is that the correct term) in the tooltip help, too. (By the
way how is the tooltip help in editor called. I don’t want to use the
Redmond Intelli**** term… J ).
I find it a bit
confusing that Flesh Builder gives you only an “excerpt” of types
available. Even if they are built into the player there could be a different icon
for those but they should definitely be indicated in the IDE.

Alpha: dispatchEvent(Event) method in ActionScript class
flash.events.EventDispatcher, it’s
now built into the Player.

The classes are not
derived from anything. However if I type import mx.event. and wait, Eclipse
does not offer EventDispatcher. There seems to be no EventDispatcher in that
package…

Did you extend EventDispatcher?

Subject: [flexcoders] Flex 2.0
Alpha: dispatchEvent(Event) method in ActionScript class
Hi there,
I get a compile time “Access of undefined property
dispatchEvent” error in a .as class file. I have imported flash.events.*;
and mx.events.*;
dispatchEvent is available in MXML files but I want to fire
an event from an ActionScript class.
Please help!
