Our group is pretty new to looking at Flex, but very interested.  That's what we're considering - the CF MX route with Flex, especially Flex 2. 

My understanding is Coldfusion can use the proprietary AMF binary (faster) remote calls, just like Java can.  And it seems like since both CF, JRun, and Flex are Macromedia/Adobe, that there'd be good synergies.
