Not that I'm aware of, no. Typically, software goes:
- prototype = developers in house get it to work - alpha = developers in house get a working version who they then share with in-house people - beta = in house alpha works well enough, changes are made from in-house alpha, and a select group from the public is invited to test the first build of the beta - gold = after beta 3, if no show stopping bugs, she's posted as a release build, ready to ship However, Macromedia has recently changed their alpha to public people. Therefore, you can't get to point C without first going from point A, and then to point B.
