Matt, thanks for pointing me in the right direction. Anyway, I tried everything but couldn't make the array serialize as <MyClass>, it always serializes as <item> elements.
Can you please provide an example on how to make an array be serialized using a custom name? Also, I couldn't find docs or samples regarding <mx:request format="xml">.
