Shahnavaz, A couple years ago, we developed a timesheet application using Flash for PPC (v6). The application used the SDK components for PPC development, and we had relatively good success with the application development. Using Shared Objects we were able to accomplish a "sometimes connected" client interface, which used various form controls (dropdowns, date selection, numeric steppers, list controls, etc...). We used a 3rd party product (Flash Assist Pro www.antmobile.com) to provide a full-screen interface which integrated with the soft-input for the PPC (and could also interact with local XML files, although we never used that feature).
While the "toned down" components in the Flash PPC SDK were definitely better performing that regular Flash components, we still had small performance issues when a particular screen contained more than 3 or so component instances (especially comboboxes). However, the delay's were minimal, and didn't affect overall use. We did testing on a number of devices, and noticed significant differences in performance between device models. For instance, two different devices manufactured by different companies that contained the same hardware specifications, would perform differently. An HP 1910 device with lower processor speed would actually perform better than an Audiovox PPC with integrated phone, and so on... Overall I'd call the project a success, considering it was done in Flash. I think that using a .NET PPC development approach probably would have worked better in the long run, you can't beat the visual control we had using Flash (it looked spanky!). Anyway, there's my 2 cents... I'd definitely look at the requirements for your application long and hard before deciding on a particular technology, but Flash worked quite well for our needs.
