Thanks a bunch - that does the trick.

Hi Jeff. I can give you a solution to your problem, but understand that
it's officially unsupported in Flex 1.5. Flex 2 will have a supported
mechanism for what you're trying to do, but it will require some code
changes.

In your draw() function of your BoxRenderer, there's an object passed as
a hidden third parameter. This parameter has a 'data' property that
refers to the original item out of the dataprovider being represented.

Tell me if that solves your problem.

Ely.

Subject: FW: [flexcoders] Line Chart - Customization?

Ely,

I thought I would forward this to you - I've gotten no response from the
FlexCoders talk list.

Basically my need is to dynamically render a line series point based
upon the value of one of the items in the data provider. I'm assuming I
need to extend an existing renderer, but my question is how do I access
the current value of the line chart being rendered for a given point.

I'd like to create a line chart that has an icon - but only on certain
items in the series. In other words the icon would only show given
certain criteria of the series data.

How could this be accomplished?
