1. Hardly... you are likely to run out of memory if you get a device that eventually supports the player required. 2. Get it down on non-volatile memory, as I am sure that your clients eventually will run our of juice and thus loose all state. 3. <nelson from simpson>ha ha</nelson from simpson> 4. dunno 5. Motorola and Nokia are the lead companies striving for, check the Motocoder and the Nokia Forum for Developers out...
Anyways... despite the above... I have some real experience building a multicasting MediaServer multi- client-control-panel into a flash based PDA application. We went through the typical J2ME, .NET remoting for Pocket PC, etc... we settled for at Flash based approach and it was fine... There are some problems however with keeping the XML socket open for longet periods and eventually you will run into problems with the notorios memory leaks of the various Flash players (The garbage collector contains several well-documented bugs)... your app WILL eventually need at reload minimum every 2-3 days. Also is there a huge problem with the load of application. In our case we needed to have the PDA OS load the Flash App. as default at boot-time and this could only be achieved through tweaking 3rd party apps, and eventually when the darn device lost its last juice it threw all settings leaving us at nothing. Its fun and games, but its far to unstable to consider for production environments... I'm terribly sorry - Adobe (the artist formerly known as Macromedia) but its the god-for-saken-truth... m5c, DP --- In [email protected], "shahnavaz Alware" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > Hi, > > > > We are developing web application using Flex 1.5 for desktop.
