Don't use groupnames; they are global (at least, to an application). I understand people like using group names, but for a cell-renderer, it's pretty easy to make a radio button selection straightforward. Just forward all click events to a common Delegated function, and edit the field of the dataProvider. Any setItem calls just set the appropriate radio button, and they'll take care of the actually selecting/deselecting.
