Nicholas, The current (Alpha) of Flex 2.0 doesn't support the ModelLocator strategy - we identified a bug in data-binding that has been fixed in our internal Flex builds, and will be fixed in the beta release of Flex. That's the sole reason we haven't been able to release anything yet.
We'll make a release of Cairngorm 2.0 as soon as there is a public build of Flex 2 available that it'll work with ! Them's the breaks with alphas and betas....
