Thanks for the info, the API of videodisplay has changed from Flex 1.5 Media components. I would encourage using Flex components in a Flex app, as the Flex versus Flash components are different and could cause issues. But thats not to say its possible to bring in the Flash 8 component through loading a SWF. Media components have been an area where the components have been lacking for some time. The hopefully will continue to change for the better.
