Hi,
I had the same problem with french special characters like é or è...
This was due to the string encoding which wasn't UTF-8 all way long, I was getting my data from a JSP page (calling a java method which was returning XML in UTF-8).
I added a UTF-8 encoding directive in the JSP header and then it was OK...
If your original data are in UTF-8, then I think it may come from the HTTP response which encapsulate your data

hi,
  i have an application which returns data from webservice.. the data is japanese text... when it is displayed the text is incorrect(it displays some numbers in fraction and somr chars) and is not displayed the right way.. is it a problem with the encoding? when data is displayed from XML it is displayed correctly but only when it is returned from webservice it is incorrect.. how to resolve this issue? any example ?
