[flexcoders] Compress String

Hi.. I would like to compress a String and send it to a server.I used compress() function of ByteArray and worked fine.But I need to do reverse, and the uncompress() function did not works.The uncompress() function only works in the SAME instance of ByteArray. (arrgghhhhh)
Is there another way to compress a string?Or any other custom function to compress?thanks !
