You can get rid of a lot of these types of issues by defining the
variable in script delimited with <![CDATA[ ]]> .
Ex:
<mx:Script>
<![CDATA[
var myUrl: String = "http://news.smartcode.ch/index.php?
id=1&type=100";
]]>
</mx:Script>
<mx:HTTPService
id="feedRequest"
url="{myUrl}"
useProxy="false" />
