Alas; the PopUpMenuButton has the same problem. Oh well. It's a beta. I just hope they logged it.

decreasing the height in order to have the component redraw itself.
invalidateDisplayList() is the right way to do it.

Coming to the original problem - why not use PopUpMenuButton instead
of PopUpButton?  PopUpMenuButton is meant for menus and takes care of
these issues.
