But specifically, since you cant get a cf updater for mac, you have to run the install on a pc and then scavenge the files you need. Its really not that hard. I have the list of files you need on my site.
The first time i installed FDS I used the linux installer to get the war and then deployed that on my mac, but I think there is a mac (or at least generic) installer for FDS now.
I wrote a Gui for Google Talk using Flex Data Services and CF as a test to play with the 2. Feel free to ping me on gtalk or email if you run into any specific problems.
