> At some seemingly arbitrary step in scaling up or down, the elements of the drawing appear on top of the Canvas or Panel in which the UIComponent is embedded. If I continue to increase or lower the scale, the drawing ceases to overflow its borders but then after a few more adjustments to the scale it happens again.
Does the Canvas/Panel create scrollbars when the drawing becomes large enough?
I'm guessing what's happening is that at some point the Canvas/Panel
does not realise that the drawing is large enough to clip it and show
scrollbars. When the drawing gets a little larger, it does the
clipping and scrollbars thing.
You can clip the Canvas/Panel by setting a mask over it or by setting
its 'scrollRect' property.
