We (the Kiwi team) will be writing a series of blog entries (at
http://blogs.adobe.com/kiwi)about how we built NoteTag, the design
strategies we took, etc. in the coming days. (Darrick Brown has
already posted a couple of entries about AS3 for C++ coders.)
In terms of other resources, here are a few suggestions:
- Asynchronous responders: Show Kuwamoto (http://kuwamoto.org/) has a
great series of articles on how to use asynchronous responders in
Flex. I'll be writing more about NoteTag's AsyncResponder class,
which is an alternative to the approaches that Sho proposed.
- Factories & other design patterns: The GoF's "Design Patterns" book
is the definitive resource for patterns like Abstract Factory,
Singleton, Decorator, Command (all of which are used in NoteTag), etc.
