I wish I had some simpler code that reproduced this problem. Unfortunatly I started with FlexBuilder and now I would like to start using an Ant script as well.

The error comes up using the default config file and I am not using any other SWC or any classes outside my project folder. I was getting all kinds of warnings for some classes that don’t have constructors so I know it is finding my local classes.

I am just not sure where to go from here except to go backwards to find the source of the problem which could takes weeks!

Right now I think I will hope that the final release of Flex fixes this. Also I will make sure all future Flex apps compile daily with an Ant script with hopes to avoid my current situation as well as hope to find the cause of the problem.

Thanks for the response… it is good to know you have never seen this problem and that you use MXMLC regularly.

Subject: Re: [flexcoders] Please Help With MXMLC Compile Error

To be honest, I just use MXMLC for all my Flex 2/AS3 related work. I used FlexBuilder2 for prototyping sometimes, its fast.

I never got such error. Can you please post the simplest code that produces this error? I can test on my machine...

I am sure, its some config or class path related issue. But, I understand compiler should show more friendly message.

I posted this a few days ago with no response. I am still hoping that I can resolve this or at least feel comfortable in believing that the error might go away with the next release of Flex.

I might feel this error is my fault but what I can't get around is the fact that it compiles fine from FlexBuilder but not MXMLC compiler. I thought FlexBuilder uses MXMLC as its compiler?

I have tried reproducing the problem with smaller applications but it works just fine. The error only comes up on a much larger application I am working on.

Here is the entire error:
