Thanks for your question; if your intent is to take code and type it in verbatim as examples, you'll find lots of things won't compile from Flex 1.0 to Flex 2.  However, our intent in writing the book was always to articulate concepts and principles more than code, and I hope that much of that will still be considered relevant by the community.
 
It is our remit to update the book for Flex 2, but that effort is only just about to be undertaken.
 
I'd suggest that the book will definitely get you off in the right direction, and I'd hope it'd be of value to you.

Hi!

As a newcomer to Flex, I was wondering if it is wise to buy the book
"Developing Rich Clients with Macromedia Flex"? AFAIK this book was
made for flex 1.0 to 1.5, while the most up to date version of Flex is
2.0. Are these versions of Flex so much different?
