I seem to remember there was a way to just say "round the top corners of this object". Rounded top corners are obviously all over flex, and I recollect seeing the ability to do is somewhere, but I cant figure out where.

Take a look at this example on Ben Stucki;s blog. Be sure to check out the CSS3 Box explorer. It is a great example. I haven't actually tried to use it, but it looks like it might help with what you are looking for.
