I'm working through the learning materials and right now I'm working with the ColdFusion Contact example which is basically a datagrid with a form showing details from the selected row of the datagrid.
Their example has an UPDATE button which you click after modifying a record in the DataGrid's detail form. I would like this to be automatic when you either hit enter or Tab out of the field (lose focus). I've looked over the Flex 2 language reference and see the events for the TextInput are as follows: change, dataChange, enter, and textInput. When I change a textInput to include enter="updateContact()", the data updates as expected when pressing the enter key. So far so good. But I can't figure out how to do update on a blur event - when I tab out of the field or click out of the field. Two of the other options (change and textInput) try to update the data on every key-press as I type. And dataChange doesn't seem to do anything. Does anyone know how to commit updated data to the datasource from a textInput field... much the same way it does in an editable DataGrid?
