Ok so I'm first using Windows Sound Recorder to convert all files to a high quality PCM (something AudioCatalyst can handle) and then using AudioCatalyst to convert into mp3s of various quality rates that Flex seems to be able to handle.  Acceptable... but I'm still confused why flex can't handle native PCM wav files.
