You can set percentWidth in either MXML or ActionScript. There are 3 equivalent ways to set a percentage width:

<mx:Button id="b" width="100%"/>

<mx:Button id="b" percentWidth="100"/>

b.percentWidth = 100;

In ActionScript there is a property available that is not available in
MXML, and it is..... [drum roll]

percentWidth !!!

(and of course percentHeight)

In some of the betas this was also available in MXML.
