Actually, FDS does still retain the ability to compile and serve .mxml
files in the old 1.5 style.  Someone corected me when I said that it did
not.

I don't have any more info though.  I'll see if I can find the post.

FDS v2 doesn't compile anything - it's just a service your SWF can use.
If you mean "can you precompile Flex 2 applications ?" the answer is
yes.
