Regarding Yahoo Groups, CF Guru Charlie Arehart recently wrote:
Yahoo group message ads became more
annoying recently. Users on Yahoo Groups lists can disable this
feature by each individual user logging into their yahoo group site for
the group and choosing the "edit membership" link, to then change
"message preference" (bottom of page) to "traditional" from "full
featured". HTH
I have tried this with good results for the email I am subscribed to FlexCoders with. Note: It does not totally eliminate the crap (e.g. "SPONSORED LINKS"), that yahoo spams every post with, but following Charlie's advice has at least toned it down a little.
fyi ... each post I receive on FlexCoders includes the following line at the bottom:
Change settings via the Web (Yahoo! ID required)
You just click that link and then follow Charlie's instructions.
If you have not yet associated the email you have subscribed to
FlexCoders with a Yahoo account, you will have to in order to switch to
"traditional" from "full featured". (e.g. either create a Yahoo
account expressly for this purpose, or use some existing Yahoo account
if you have one.)hth,
