Another approach would be to extend the configuration mechanism in
data-management-config.xml.
<destination id="item">
<properties>
...
<metadata>
<identity property="name"/>
</metadata>
</properties>
</destination>
Could the identity element be extended with a unsaved-value attribute
akin to Hibernates mapping? So in my case it would read
<metadata>
<identity property="name" unused-value="0" />
</metadata>
Just my 0.02 Euro on that issue.
