Tracy, Randy, Yeah thats the key. Its not difficult if there is a guide. I can hack it but that usually takes away all the benefit of what has already been created for us. And often it is the one flex developer that is required to know everything. I'd rather focus and work on the front end because that is where the developers of Flex Builder have put the emphasis. If there were tools in FB for server side classes or database management then I dont think I'd have any issues going from flex, as3 client side to server side and db.
At the moment, I'm in a lucky situation. I'm doing a contract at a company to make the front end in Flex (I chose to use FXT due to the short time scale, size of their existing project and as a phase 1) and I have a wealth of high end developers at my beck and call. We are working with FXT so I am having them put xml in the html page but they are not really getting the full blast effect of Flex to connect to their database and / or existing classes. (havent got to use full blast in a while. feels pretty good :)) I have no problem coming up with a tutorial and example. And if I'm confident that I'm not going to get sued for my approach I'll put it on my blog. Judah ps thanks again doc team for your manuals. they are easy to understand for people like me :) On 10/5/06, jrunrandy <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > We hear you.
