To set the left and right margins you can use the paddingLeft and paddingRight properties. For the capslock question you can use keyboardEvents to detect certain key but i'm not sure how to force an emulated keypress, there is a flash.ui.Keyboard class that may be able to do what you want but I havn't played with it at all.
