My first guess would be that oldPoint isn't correct.  If you're getting the local value from the event.localX make sure that event.localX and event.target is what you expect it to be.  If that doesn't work, you can also use event.StageX and simply do:

desiredpoint = vboxid.globalToLocal(new point(event.stageX,event.stageY));

In my problem,  my combination of globalToLocal and localToGlobal was getting wrong.

what i did is:

 

desiredPoint = Vboxid.globalToLocal (TemplateArea.localToGlobal (oldPoint))

Hello all,

 

I have a application where i have one canvas -- "TemplateArea" , a Vbox -- "Vboxid" in TemplateArea and ImageComponent  inside that Vboxid

on mouseDownEvent i am drawing the rectangle on Canvas TemplateArea, What i need to do if i have to track the co-ordinates with respect to Vboxid .

I tried with gloablToLocal and localToGlobal..but not working

 

Can any one please suggest me what exactlly I need to do?
