Ya its kinda weird that its on a labs website, but I consider it production version. Its like Cairngorm, its production software, many people use it.
I use FlexUnit for my projects and it works great. The only thing I recommend is you look into how to run FlexUnit from Ant and generate a JUnit like report (http://weblogs.macromedia.com/pmartin/archives/2006/06/flexunit_ant.cfm#more). Enjoy!
