this[componentIdName].reload(), although I think sending component names from ColdFusion is a terrible idea.

I have a ColdFusion component that passes a string with the id of an Flex component to a Flex application (the component is instantiated in the Flex application). I want to call a method in the Flex component by using the id contained in the string. Is there any way to use the string value to lookup the actual object so that a function call can be made?
