Calisto was a syncronised update of Eclipse, WTP etc. Failing that, get the plain Eclipse and add WTP to it via WTP's update URL. Calisto is based on eclipse 3.2 though, eh? So can't do that. We use the standalone JRUN for developing, and I imagine the latter of your two options would be much better as the turn-around time is smaller. I'm starting to think this too. Used JRun previously, but sneaking Tomcat in on this one. (using Java on the back end). Previously I had Ant tasks to push mxml/class files to the JRun root, play restart, play wait, play request mxml, play wait again, etc....
