If you are truly totally new to the language and dont have any experience with other OO languages, I would have to recommend you get some training. The Adobe training program has several classes on flex that would help you get a head start. The Flex 2 Building Rich Internet Applications class starts of with what is flex and its relationship to flash, then walks through using flex builder and then into building flex applications. If covers OO in as much as you need to start building custom components and communicating between components with events.
The courses are great and well worth the cash ( from what I hear, I am an instructor). But beyond that I know that flex group in SoCal (silvafug maybe?) was going to be offering free online training. So you might want to look into that also. Good Luck. simeon On 1/4/07, oneproofdk <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:
As a complete newbie to Flash, AS (any kind) and especially Flex - my mind is a bit blown away after reading Flex2 documentation for the last week or so. Just got hold of "Training from the Sorce - Adobe Flex 2" and it's way out of my league. The problem is getting hold of the basic things like AS classes etc. to begin to understand the examples etc. For a week I've been making examples from the book, basicly type as you flip pages - afterwards - still fails to truly understand what just happened. So.... is there any pointers to a startguide for the true newbie. Thanks for any help and pointers! Cheers, Mark
