[flexcoders] Setting ComboBox.text doesn't work?

Does anyone know how to get the combobox.text property to work... I've
set it and then checked the value after setting it and it's there...
it just doesn't update the ui to reflect the change... Any ideas?

This is a Flex 2.0 app
