Thanks for the response! I want to be able to show that some product are subsets of other products. I'm new to flex so I'm not sure what the animation would be called but I would have to dynamically add additional series to the chart. I would also want dates on the axis like a regular column chart. It looked like your example only used data grid headers?

What kind of animations are you trying to display. As long as you don't need to cross into other grid rows, the method I described will work very well. You can animate anywhere within the renderer.
