It was pointed out that many people on this list do not know what Maven is. Fair enough. Maven (http://maven.apache.org/) is an automated build infrastructure that allows for, well, automated command-line builds. This is typically done in enterprises or projects where there are multiple environments, or complex, interdependent projects. A simple way to look at maven, is that it is an alternative to Ant or Make, but works quite differently in style. This plugin allows you to define flex projects with maven project metadata, which then allows these projects to be built within Maven, packaged and deployed via the maven repository infrastructure, and it can participate in the dependency management that Maven is known for. This announcement is likely to be more of interest to build managers, and senior technologists who are responsible for putting the pieces of a project together, rather than developers who are working in Flex to develop features. regards, Christian.
