I had a similar problem (Flex Builder 2.0 trial version that had just a few days left), and a similar resolution (buying 2.0.1). Before taking the "reinstall" route, I found a message somewhere (here in flexcoders?) that suggested removing the .metadata folder. That would, of course, require re-building the project workspaces, etc. Sounded like voodoo to me and it didn't solve my immediate problem. Interesting stuff in the .metadata folder, though...
