I experienced a similar problem, and it only seemed to effect those people that had installed an early version of flash 9, if they manually went and downloaded the most recent flash 9 version then the next time they visited my site the blank screen wasn't blank anymore. I think it might have been down to the fact that my early swf's were checking for version 9.0.0 so it didn't auto update (under detect flash version number for HTML wrapper) as anyone that had version 8 or earlier were automatically upgraded by the HTML wrapper and the site worked fine for them.
