This would happen if you didn't have a dependency on an ActionScript class in your application otherwise the mxmlc doesn't know to link it into the SWF. At runtime if the Flash Player does not find a class with a registered alias for the remote type, it just creates an anonymous ActionScript Object to hold the properties. There are lots of ways to create a compile time dependency... import com.something.MyType; //... private static var dep:MyType; etc.
