I've had mega issues with Eclipse, FB, FDS, FDS plugin, and Tomcat plugin.
Found that using only one perspective at a time helps.  I look at it this
way, Eclispe is a super duper big machina with lots of complex plugins
written by all sorts of folks.  So many variables, so little sleep, miles to
go, eh?

Also, ht Window > Preferences > General  and check show heap status.  This
gives you a neat little monitor that allows you to manually run GCs on
occasion, which I have found helpful.
