Hi,

Adobe Flex is a way to create applications for Adobe Flash Player. When we
say Flash it generally means two things depending on the context:-

1) SWF
2) Adobe Flash IDE.

So it's always better to be specific when you use the term "flash". I always
use Flash IDE instead of "flash".

To answer your question, there is no difference between flex and flash
applications. You just creating using different tools and authoring
metaphors.

Adobe Flex does provide loads of things:-

1) Compiler
2) Component Framework/Library
3) Debugger
4) Programming Model (MXML - xml based langugage and ActionScript 3)

Adobe Flash IDE is a tool that has totally different authoring metaphor:-
1) Canvas
2) Timeline
3) Library
4) Design tools

Ideally, you can create same application using Adobe Flash IDE and Adobe
Flex. Practically, Adobe Flex way of doing things is faster and easier (from
programmers/developers perspective) to understand/develop/maintain.

Does that make sense?
