I forgot to show an example of how I used it for testing...
<fx:TextStrikethrough id="statusBar" width="100%" height="100%"
strikethrough="{statusBar.text == '0 messages/second'}" text="Gathering
statistics..." />

This adds the 'strikethrough' parameter which should be a boolean. The
strikethrough could look better... but it works.
