Yeah, as an ex java programmer I long ago gave up on Javapause.

Anyways, check out the syntax.  It doesn't even use XML as a first
class entity.

Right now, my money is on flex .. they have a history of solid
execution.   

The one weakness is the poor threading model, which may in the end be
the reason to switch to silverlight.  

The only thing holding me back is what will likely be poor cross
platform support and other MS lockins.
