I'm not sure, but from a usability stand point you might just want to add your own to your app. The reason being that not all browsers have the Status Bar at the bottom and it's something that can be turned on and off by a user.
Also, saving something is a pretty big deal and having an indicator of that as small type at the bottom of the browser may not get a user's attention. Just a thought.
