Visible is used to hide the views that cannot be seein in a navigator.
They are essentially under control of the navigator and do not affect
which tabs are visible. You can remove the child if you want to hide
it.

Subject: [flexcoders] How to hide tab in the TabNavigator object?

Hello,

I wonder why the 'visible' property doesn't work in the following
example:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<mx:Application xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml
<http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml> " layout="absolute">
<mx:TabNavigator x="71" y="56" width="200" height="200">
<mx:Canvas label="Tab 1" width="100%" height="100%">
</mx:Canvas>
<mx:Canvas label="Tab 2" visible="false" width="100%" height="100%">
</mx:Canvas>
</mx:TabNavigator>
</mx:Application>

Thanks much,
Mikhail
